6th-8th Grade 2016 Spring Track Information

Participation Requirements

Students will be allowed to join if they have a grade point average of 1.5 or better, an athletic physical on record, have paid their one time $15 insurance fee and have signed up before, March 27, 2016. Children without a physical on record or those that have not paid their insurance fee will not be allowed to attend practice. Student athletes must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher to participate in competition.
The track team is also open to 6th grade students. Our league follows the MHSAA rules and will not be running 6th graders against 7th and 8th grade students. It is our goal to host two sixth grade meets. Practice for all students will begin Monday, April 8th from 2:30 to 4:00. Students that have signed up should report directly to the gym for practice and will need running clothes and shoes.

In order for your child to try out they must have :

    [Signed up before Weds. March 27th 2016]

6th grade participants will be allowed to participate in the track meets which are held against our other Kalamazoo Public Schools (Maple Street, Linden Grove, and Hillside).

All students joining track will be participating in various sprints, and distance running. Students also have the choice of participating in three field events: shot put, long jump, and high jump. Milwood Track and Field welcomes all athletes who desire to work hard, improve athletically, develop personally, and compete against their peers.
